History of the GHPCC:  The Golden Horseshoe Post Card Club

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of

BARNETT, Donald W. L.

Don passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Monday, September 2, 2013, Don was in his 92nd year. He was married for 59 years to the late Lilian Jeanette Barnett. Donald was a Veteran of World War II where he served with The Royal Navy, an original member of C.S.M.M.I. and founder of The Golden Horseshoe Postcard Club. If desired, expressions of sympathy to the Resident Recreation Fund at the Village of Tansley Woods Retirement, would be sincerely appreciated by the family. www.smithsfh.com

Don arranged an exploratory meeting to the possibility of organizing a post card club on May 21st, 1985 at the Burlington Cultural Centre. The first meeting was held on July 23rd, 1985 and as they say, the rest is history.

Our condolences are extended to the Barnett family.
